Challenge & Solution
By adopting a new way of working, the trust have managed to significantly reduce the size for their estate and avoid building new office accommodation offering significant efficiencies.
The refurbishment of the Sedgemoor Centre has used a simple but bright interior design concept to create a fully shared open plan workplace that is designed to support collaboration between teams.
PLACEmaking carried out an initial review of the workplace estate in Summer 2009 and based on a cost modeling exercise, recommended that by refurbishing an existing building and moving toward a shared working environment, the trust could avoid the need to invest in a large PFI office building.
The trust acted on the recommendations and PLACEmaking supported the trust throughout the process.
